START WITH THEIR JEWELLERY BOX

Look at what they actually wear.  Not what you think they should wear.  What do they reach for every morning? Look at the metal.  Do they mostly wear yellow gold? White gold? Rose gold? A mixture? Mixed-metal jewellery is especially visible and current 2026 fashion coverage, so don’t assume everything has to match perfectly.  Look at the style.  Are their pieces delicate, bold, vintage-inspired, modern, minimal, romantic, or colourful? The existing jewellery they wear every day is one of your best clues.

LOOK AT THEIR PINTEREST AND INSTAGRAM

This is where being a little sneaky can be useful.  Have they saved engagement rings? Do they follow jewellery designers? Have they ever commented on someone’s ring? Have they sent you a photograph saying, “I love this”? Take screenshots and bring them in.

ASK SOMEONE THEY TRUST

A sister, best friend or parent may know exactly what they’ve been dreaming about.  Just remember…too many people knowing about a surprise can make it harder to keep the secret!

FINDING THE RING SIZE

If you can safely borrow a ring they wear on the correct finger, bring it to us.  Don’t guess based on someone’s shoe size, height or handwriting, lol. And don’t panic; if you can’t determine the exact size, we would be happy to resize it after the proposal.
