One of the questions we hear most often is:  “Can you make something like this?”

The answer is very often “yes”.  Custom jewellery doesn’t necessarily begin with a perfect drawing or a detailed plan.

Sometimes it starts with a photograph.

Sometimes it’s an old family ring.

Sometimes it’s an idea someone has been carrying for years.

…and sometimes it’s simply: “I want something she/they will absolutely love.” That’s enough to get started.

STEP ONE          WE TALK

The first part of custom design isn’t technical at all.  It’s a conversation.  We want to know what you’re looking for, who the piece is for, what you like, what you don’t like and what you’re comfortable spending.  This last part matters.  We believe jewellery should be designed around your budget – not the other way around.

STEP TWO          WE EXPLORE IDEAS

Use our RING BUILDER to create 3D images of rings you can make. We’ll be able to see your creations digitally and discuss them with you.  Bring us photographs.  Bring us inspiration from Pinterest or Instagram.  Bring us an existing piece of jewellery…or bring us nothing at all.  We’ll look at styles, stones, metals and design possibilities together.

STEP THREE          WE BUILD THE DESIGN

This is where an idea begins to become a piece of jewellery.  Details can be adjusted to suit your preferences and your budget.  The shape of the stone, the setting, the metal, the band and the small details can all change the personality of a piece.  And those little details are often what make custom jewellery so special.

STEP FOUR          WE CREATE IT

Once the design is approved, the piece moves into production.  That’s when your idea becomes something you can actually hold, wear and eventually pass down.

STEP FIVE          THE FINISHED PIECE

This is our favourite part.  Because there’s something special about seeing a customer hold a piece of jewellery that didn’t exist before they walked through our door. It was created for them, by them, or for that special someone.  That’s the beauty of custom design.

What if I Don’t Know My Budget?
