So, what’s trending in engagement rings this year?
It would appear that there is a rebirth of some classic styles from the early to mid-1900s. These vintage pieces are making a comeback.. with some slight modifications. For example, many of the tiara bands are surrounding a single solitaire stone that sits on a much thinner band than “back in the day”. The rings are somewhat daintier and less chunky.
These vintage styles are also set in rose gold, moving away from the traditional yellow or white gold.
Of course, coloured stones were very popular in day’s past. These too are making a comeback. You’ll also notice the shoulder stones surrounding the centre stone are taking on a variety of shapes; trilliums, pear, and other unique and original shapes.
Many people are moving away from the common choice of a “brilliant” stone and are choosing a variety of other shapes for their centre stone. Pear-shaped stones seem to be extremely popular.
In fact, some are choosing champagne or grey stones over white diamonds.
Increasing in popularity is changing the direction of the centre stone so that is placed horizontally instead of the typical vertical placement.
Some are even placing the centre stone on an obscure angle…
Here are some other rings with a “vintagey” feel, that our customers love.
