Sometimes it takes a village to make one’s dream come true. At Jeff Walters Jewellers, our village can reach as far as Viet Nam.
Such is the case with Suzana. She came into our store in July seeking a particular bracelet for herself and her daughter. She explicitly wanted a Buddha bracelet, also known as a lucky knot bracelet or prosperity bracelet, usually handmade by Buddhists in a variety of different colours. Unfortunately, Jeff does not carry these multi-beaded bracelets in his store.
No problem….Jeff’s daughter, Lauren and her husband, John, happened to be travelling in Viet Nam at the same time. Jeff didn’t hesitate to text Lauren and John to see if it was possible to bring an authentic buddha bracelet with them, upon their return.
Well, here’s Lauren’s recount of the event in a personal note to Suzana:
Dear Suzana:
When my dad told me about this beautiful gift you wanted to get for yourself and your daughter, my husband spent at least 2-3 hours researching the best, most authentic store in Hanoi, Vietnam, and the best Buddhist Stones for prosperity. After a long chat with the very knowledgeable store owners, we were sure that the Tiger’s Eye Quartz stone was “the one”.
I also learned, through Google searches, that the tiger’s eye is named after its appearance/likeness to a tiger’s eye; it symbolizes looking to the future and being able to see what you truly need to do to achieve both prosperity and satisfaction from your life. It gives a person vision and clarity. It is a meaningful and powerful stone, so it’s no wonder the Dalai Lama frequently wears tiger’s eye bracelets on his left arm (Google it! It’s apparently his stone of choice).
Its humble brown reminds one to be gracious, while the luxurious gold colour peeks out to motivate one to be ambitious and optimistic of the future. Enjoy this gift on your wrist, or hanging in your office!
