The excitement was palpable. Don had meticulously designed a wonderful engagement ring for his fiance-to-be and August 23 had arrived; the day he intended to propose to his beloved, Karen.  Two days earlier, he planned to pick the ring up from Jeff Walters Jewellers and then head up North, to spend a few days with Karen.  Unfortunately, even the best-laid plans can go awry… while casting the beautiful diamond, halo engagement ring surrounded by Pink Sapphires, the accent stones got chipped which meant a slight delay in the ring being ready in time for Don to take it with him on their little get-away.  What to do?

Don’s plan was that he would propose to Karen on their horseback riding adventure on a trail ride just outside of Bracebridge.  Well, he and Jeff put their heads together and it was decided that Jeff and his wife would also be going on a trail ride that day.  In fact, Jeff would be escorted to the exact spot that the couple were picnicking and Jeff would pass the ring to Don at the precise moment.

Don and his fiance-to-be arrived at the farm for their trail ride as planned.  They were escorted to a beautiful pasture to enjoy their picnic lunch. Shortly after the couple was situated, the guide returned to lead Jeff and his wife to the exact spot where the couple were picnicking.  Fortunately, Jeff’s horseback riding skills came flooding back to him and he and his wife arrived at the spot, without incident.  …And there in the middle of a beautiful field, on a beautiful day, sat Karen and Don enjoying their private time.. which had now become invaded by a jeweller wearing white gloves, arriving on horseback.

Needless to say, Karen looked upon the couple with much curiosity, as Don then grabbed her attention to begin his beautiful proposal.  Jeff passed the ring along to Don for his Marriage proposal, while  Jeff’s wife, Sue videotaped the entire event.  There wasn’t a dry eye as this moment unfolded.  Jeff wore his white gloves for this special occasion and felt so privileged to be a part of this amazing event in Don and Karen’s lives.  Congratulations to Don and Karen!  We are grateful that you are wearing our beautiful custom-made jewellery and know it will bring you many years of happiness, as your upcoming marriage will, too.
